During the month of January, 2011, Property Press will be accepting submissions of poetry, photographs and/or essays on poetry, art or politics for its new pamphlet Despite Fall's Knock. Translations are absolutely welcome. All submissions should be electronic (file extension rtf, please). Send no more than five poems or five pages of material.

Property Press has a point of view: critique and celebration. Write to knock it down. Oh send your dreams sexier than ever current affairs as they are plots, strikes, urges of tainted youth en amour to propertypress@gmail.com.

Property Press announces free discussion group

In response to the Durruti Free Skool, Property Press announces its own collaborative discussion group for those interested in Marxism and anarchy, forthcoming in spring 2011. The Lyceum will be based in Boston, but it will contain a wiki element, and participation from those outside the northeast (or outside the country) is encouraged. We will read Durruti's suggested texts: Provo: Amsterdam's Anarchist Revolt, and Dispersing Power: Social Movements as Anti-State Forces. We will also look at excerpts from Marx, Foucault, Bourdieu, Chomsky and Dean. We will read poetry as well (the list will be created by the participants.)

Property Press looks to promote a space for productive discussion and interaction, a space that minimizes, if it cannot be entirely removed from, the effects of institutional power. Property Press seeks an alternative to, say, AWP and the university system, and we do not want the Lyceum to become another bland "seminar." It is our hope that poets and others who are frustrated with the institutional framework will be able to share ideas, and, with any luck, find some allies.

Property Press hopes to make this event entirely free (including books, if possible) especially for those in need. Funds are limited. If you are able to contribute, we ask you to do so. If you are interested in the Lyceum, please email Property Press and tell us a little about yourself.

UK poet Luke Roberts and others will read real and imaginary words at Outpost 186 (186 1/2 Hampshire St. in Inman Square, Cambridge MA), Thursday May 27th 2010, 8 PM. Copies of recent Property Press pamphlets will be distributed free. Other hard-to-find chapbooks will also be available. Beverages served. Free admission.
